Esso closed due to climate change.
On the final day of the climate talks at Kyoto, we made our parting
Essowatch gesture. The tone was kept simple and serious - very
different from the previous day's upbeat solar message. Boards were
placed right across the front of the entrance to the Esso building with
the message "Esso closed due to climate change. For a brighter future
go solar electric". Peter Melchett, ED of Greenpeace UK, then laid a
large bunch of sunflowers at Esso's door with the message attached
"Thank God the future's solar".
And then we left.
