Thank you for your letter of 9th May. I note that you are now discussing with FoE Scotland their demand for your inaccurate Atlantic Frontier leaflets to be withdrawn. I await, with interest, the outcome of your discussion.

I am glad that you accept that the fact that the important issue between BP and Greenpeace is about the effects your products (oil) have on the climate. I will be pleased to accept BP's invitation to meet for a discussion about climate change when Peter Scupholme gets in touch. In the meantime I take this opportunity to enclose a copy of Greenpeace's recently released report, "Putting the Lid on Fossil Fuels" which sets out our concerns in greater detail and suggests solutions.

I am also waiting to hear from you with details of the proposed visit by my colleague Simon Reddy and others to the Petrojarl Foinaven.
