The potential threat of Global Climate Change, despite the continuing scientific uncertainties, is one that we take very seriously. The issues are very complex and do not lend themselves to resolution in letters of this sort or by exchanging simplistic slogans. A well thought out, global and effective approach is needed. This can only be developed through a genuine dialogue which recognises the complexity of the subject and the legitimacy of the "other side's" perspective.
